Akwa Ibom State Police Commissioner, Waheed Ayilara is dead

Waheed Ayilara, the Akwa Ibom state Commissioner has died.

Ayilara was said to have died early on Thursday morning at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja.

The CP was said to have gone through prostate cancer surgery on Wednesday. But he succumbed to the cold hands of death on Thursday.

According to sources close to the family, Ayilara had undergone surgery for prostate cancer on Wednesday.

A family member, speaking on condition of anonymity, expressed deep sorrow over the loss.

“We are very sad to inform you that our friend, brother, and family member, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, Waheed Ayilara, is dead,” the source said, reflecting the family’s grief.

Ayilara is scheduled to be buried on Thursday according to Islamic rites.
