The former comptroller-general (CG) of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), David Parradang has reportedly been killed by suspected armed robbers in Abuja.
According to Zagazola Makama, the counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, the former CG was attacked in the Area 1 axis of Abuja Tuesday morning.
The publication said the assailants trailed Parradang from a bank where he had withdrawn money, took the cash and killed him.
The federal capital territory (FCT) police command and the NIS have not released any official statement to confirm the incident.
Before his retirement, Parradang served over three decades in the NIS.
During his career, he occupied numerous roles, culminating in his appointment as comptroller general.
His career took him across multiple regions, where he served in states such as Kano, Lagos, Kwara, Enugu and the FCT.
In 2015, the federal government suspended Parradang as the CG NIS in connection with the investigations into how Ahmad al-Assir, a wanted terrorist, secured Nigerian visa in Lebanon to visit Nigeria.
