Gunmen on Monday attacked a GUO bus heading to one of the Eastern states and reportedly killed the driver and abducted some passengers.
The bus, presumably from Lagos was left abandoned with bags and personal belongings of passengers scattered on the road.
According to eyewitness account, the kidnappers herded the passengers away, with one unverified claim that soldiers were with a striking distance from the scene of the attack but did nothing to deter the kidnappers.
The stretch of the attack has a history of kidnapping incidents due to dense bushes and poor lighting.
As at the time of filling this report, both the GUO transport company and police authorities are yet to comment on the incident.
