NCDC places emergency response on alert mode over Ebola

Health emergency preparedness expert and Deputy Director, Head of Department, Health Emergency Preparedness and Response at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), Dr. Gbenga Joseph, says the agency has placed its Incident Management System on alert mode to strengthen Nigeria’s preparedness against any potential Ebola outbreak.

Dr. Joseph made this known while speaking on Good Morning Nigeria on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) during a discussion on Nigeria’s response to the current Ebola threat.

Following the outbreak of Ebola disease in the Democratic Republic of Congo [DRC] last month, the World Health Organisation [WHO] warned that the outbreak is spreading faster than the response of the the government and health organisations.
