BudgIT, a prominent civic-tech organisation promoting transparency and accountability in Nigeria’s public finance, has expressed concern by the findings of the United States Department of State’s 2026 Fiscal Transparency Report.
The report shows that Nigeria has failed to meet minimum fiscal transparency requirements for the second consecutive year and made no significant progress in addressing identified weaknesses.
