A Finnish court of appeal has reduced the prison sentence of Simon Ekpa, the Biafra nation crusader, from six years to four years.
The court upheld his conviction for participating in a terrorist organisation and publicly inciting crimes for terrorist purposes.
The ruling, delivered on Thursday, October 15, 2026, is not final and may still be appealed to a higher court.
Ekpa was originally sentenced to six years in prison in September 2025. The case relates to activities linked to the campaign for an independent Biafran state in southeastern Nigeria between 2021 and 2024.
