Imo Govt, Police rewards officers who nabbed killers of Rev Father with N2M

Everest Ezihe || Mr. Chris Ejike, the Imo State Police Commissioner and Imo state government have rewarded the 28 police officers who sacrificed their lives to arrest the suspected kidnappers and murderers of Rev. Fr. Cyriacus Onunkwo, Prince Chinedu Nwadike (Gospel artiste), Mr. John Bosco Okoro and Mr Njoku Mathias Emeka with N2m all-together and certificate of recommendations.
Mr. Ejike disclosed this on Monday while briefing Journalists at the open parade Ground of the Command stressing that the N1m cash which is his personal donation is in fulfillment of his earlier promises.
The Commissioner pointed out that the courage and tenacity of the men of SARS ad anti-kidnapping squad whose hard work yielded the result deserve serious motivation.
He also stated that crime fighting through operation whistle blowing that exposes the criminals is an ongoing exercise and very soon more suspects will be paraded.
Ejike expressed pleasure in rewarding policemen who have displayed uncommon zeal, courage, handwork, commitment, passion and above average intelligence in the apprehension of the men of the underworld who he said have made life unbearable for the people.
He congratulated them for being true professionals in protection of lives and properties even at the risk of paying supreme sacrifices noting the result of hard work to be more work.
According to him “The job is yet to be finished because criminals are never on casual or annual leave. We must continue to collectively work round the clock to ensure that Imolites sleep with their both eyes closed” he assured.
Ejike cautioned against indolence, sabotage, and unprofessional conducts noting that criminal behavior shall be punished just as good deeds are rewarded.
He applauded Imo citizens for their unflinching supports while soliciting for genuine, strategic and mutually beneficial partnership in their efforts of making the state a safe heaven.
Responding, Sir George Eche, the Secretary to Imo State Government who ably represented Governor Rochas Okorocha noted the evils associated with crime and criminal activities.
Eche lamented over the level of arms being used by the criminals in execution of their trade while commending Imo State Police command for the pro-activeness in crime prevention.
He pledged N1m on behalf of the State Government and the twenty eight officers that played prominent roles in the arrest of the kidnappers of the aforementioned victims while describing CP Ejike as the new sheriff in town.
