Benin Republic on Friday night upset the form book to qualify for the quarter-finals of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after beating Morocco 4-1 on penalties.
The match went into extra time after a 1-1 draw in regulation time but Morrocco were unable to overcome Benin who played with a man down.
In the ensuing penalty shoot out, the West African nation, who are yet to win a watch in regulation time in the tournament held their nerves and prevailed over the North African country who came into Friday’s match as favourites.
