Security officials in New York has declared Ahmad Khan Rahami, a 28 years old American citizen of Afghanistan origin wanted over the bomb blast that went off in the Chelsea area of Manhattan on Saturday.At least twenty nine people were injured and another unexploded device was found around the vicinity. Officials have been slow to call the incident a terrorist act.
Ahmad Khans last known address was in Elizabeth and FbI officials are searching a residence in the area on Monday for clues on the suspects whereabouts.
Investigators have warned that the suspect should be considered “armed and dangerous”.
“Anyone who sees this individual or knows anything about him or his whereabouts needs to call it in right away,” New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said in an interview on Monday.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Monday that there might be a foreign connection to the Manhattan attack.
