Another Catholic prest killed by bandits in Kaduna

Bandits on Saturday killed a Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Kaduna, Reverend Father Vitus Borough.

The late cleric was killed at the Nigerian Prison Farm in Kujama along the Kaduna-Kachia Road in Chikun LGA of Kaduna state.

Until his murder, Rev. Father Borough was the Chaplain of the Catholic Community of the Kaduna State Polytechnic, and the Chairman of the Nigerian Catholic Diocesan Priests Association (NCDPA), Kaduna State Chapter.

The Chancellor of Kaduna Catholic Archdiocese, Reverend Father Christian Okewu, confirmed the incident in a statement made available to reporters on Saturday.

The Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna Archdiocese, Most Reverend Matthew Ndagoso, while condoling the immediate family, the NFCS Family of Kaduna Polytechnic, and the entire Kaduna Polytechnic Community, assured them of his fraternal closeness and prayers.

He also called on the Christian community to pray for the peaceful repose of his soul and grace for his bereaved family.

Reverend Father Borough is the second Catholic priest killed by bandits in recent times in Chikun LGA.

Father Joseph Bako was also killed by bandits after his abduction from his residence in March.
