Another Kaduna traditional ruler abducted by bandits

By our reporter/ The Traditional ruler of Jaba, the Kpop Ham of Jaba Chiefdom in Kaduna State, Jonathan Danladi Gyet Maude, has been abducted.

Maude was abducted by bandits at his farm said to be located in Gitata, a neighbouring community in Nasarawa state bordering Jaba LGA of Kaduna state.

Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna, ASP Mohammed Jalige, who confirmed the abduction, said Maude was abducted around Panda in Nasarawa State while visiting his farm.

The kidnappers were said to have stormed the farm at about 2pm and abducted the traditional ruler who is in his 80’s, leaving his aides behind.

The development comes two weeks after Alhaji Alhassan Adamu, Emir of Kajuru in Kaduna, was abducted.

The monarch was released after 24 hours in custody but 13 members of his family who were abducted were not freed.

Kaduna has been witnessing intense attacks by bandits — ranging from killings to abduction of schoolchildren and residents — despite efforts by security agencies to contain the situation.
