Ebun Francis || Three cases of the strange viral infection, monkeypox has been reported in three different locations in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Professor Chike Princewill, the state commissioner of health who confirmed the development, said that the three cases were recorded Eneka, Rumuolumeni, and psychiatric areas of the state.
Princewill said, “We have activated our isolation centres and we have put all our Health centres on red alert.”
“The University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, UPTH, Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital, and all our Primary Health Centres have been reactivated.”
“We can assure you that there is no course for alarm because we are on top of the situation.”
The first case of the strange viral disease was first reported in Bayelsa State earlier in the week, so far about thirteen people are infected and are receiving treatment.
