Appeal court to deliver judgement on Osun Guber poll on Thursday

The appeal court sitting in Abuja will deliver its judgement in the Osun state governorship election on Thursday.

In a hearing notice issued on Wednesday, the court said it will hear the appeal filed by Gboyega Oyetola, governor of the state, against Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), by 9am.

Governor Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared winner of the September 2018 election by INEC.

But Ademola Adeleke, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenged the outcome of the election before a three-man panel of the election tribunal led by Ibrahim Sirajol.

The tribunal in March ruled that Oyetola was not validly returned as the winner of the election and subsequently declared Adeleke winner.
