Bandits release abducted Niger commissioner

Niger commissioner for information, Alhaji Muhammed Sani Idris abducted by bandits earlier in the week has been released by his abductors.

According to daily Trust report, family sources said they sold some valuables to raise the ransom demanded by the bandits.

However, the source said he is not sure of how much the family paid to secure his release.

According to the publication, the Niger state government insisted on not paying ransom for the release of the commissioner.
