A helicopter conveying the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, crash-landed on Saturday in Kabba, Kogi State.
The vice president was on his way to Kabba for a campaign rally.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, confirmed this on his verified twitter handle.
The vice president and his aides came out unhurt and continued with their journey to Kabba for the engagement.
Osinbajo, a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) returned all glory to God for keeping him and his team safe and thanked Nigerians for their support.
He said, “All thanks and glory to God, the chopper we boarded today from Abuja just crash landed in Kabba, Kogi State, and the entire crew plus myself are all safe.”
“We are continuing with our Next Level Engagements and plans for Kogi State.”
Saturday’s crash was the second major air mishap the vice president will be involved in.
The first was in June, 2018 when the chopper conveying the vice-president from the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, Gwagwalada, Abuja, was forced to land few seconds after take off.
