President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday chaired the inaugural meeting of the presidential campaign council of the party with none of the 24 governors elected on the platform of the ruling party present.
The meeting held at the conference hall of the State House Presidential Villa.
It is not clear why the governors are not at the event.
The governors are part of the council as coordinators for their own states.
The council was inaugurated earlier in the week by the President at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The meeting was attended by almost all the other members of the council and is co-chaired by former Lagos state governor, Bola Tinubu.
The President had while inaugurating the council announced that the National leader of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu will take full charge of his re-election campaign.
