The presidential election petition tribunal on Wednesday dismissed the petition of Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the last general election.
In dismissing the petition, the tribunal ruled the case lacked merit.
The tribunal chairman, Mohammed Garba, in the lead judgement, held that Atiku and the PDP failed to provide enough evidence to support the claims in the petition including those bothered on electoral malpractices.
He said, “I have come to the conclusion that the petitioners have not proved any of the grounds in paragraph 15 as required. For failure of this, this petition is hereby dismissed in its entirety.”
