UPDATED: Buhari receives APC presidential form, says selfish, weakest members have exited party

President Mohammadu Buhari on Tuesday received the expression of interest and nomination forms of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) bought for him by members of a group called National Consolidation Ambassadors Network (NCAN) at the presidential villa.

During the presentation ceremony, the President Buhari enumerated the achievements of his administration.

President Buhari did not also spare those who he said put personal interest above national interest by decamping from the ruling party.

According to the President, the selfish and the weakest members of the party are the ones that have left.

Buhari said, “The weakest whose sense of expectation do not align with our vision have exited our party.”

“We now have a party of strong and patriotic people who are ready to work for a strong Nigeria.”

The president listed  his achievements in office to include completed rail project and new ones under construction, government support for farmers, including the rehabilitation of fertiliser plants, introduction of the Treasury Single Account (TSA, which he said has reduced stealing in public service as well as provision of jobs and cash for the most vulnerable Nigerians.

Chuckwuemeka Nwajiuba, one of the leaders of the group,  in his opening remarks, said they that over three million Nigerians purchased the Expression of Interest Form for President Buhari, with some contributing  as little as N68 to purchase the form after “a triple-A assessment of the performance of President Buhari.”

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Minister Of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi and spokesperson of President Buhari’s Campaign Team, Festus Keyamo witnessed the presentation.
