Buhari tests negative for coronavirus, Kyari’s result being awaited- Presidency

Chidi Samuel|The Presidency on Monday morning said they are still awaiting the result of the coronavirus test for the chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari but that the president tested negative for the dreaded virus

Some media outlets on Monday reported that Kyari has tested positive for the coronavirus days after returning from an official trip to Germany.

But in a telephone conversation with Alabingo.com on Monday morning, presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina said the result was still being awaited.

According to Adesina, it was based on the concerns about the chief of staff, that the president took the test which came out negative.

He assured that Kyari’s result will be made public when the result became available.

Adesina said, ”I can confirm to you that the result for the chief of staff is being awaited. We will make it available but it was based on the concern over his case that the president took a test which came out negative.”

The chief of staff to the president, alongside Sale Mamman, minister of power, attended a meeting in Germany with officials of Siemens to discuss issues relating to the Nigerian power sector recently.

Nigeria currently has 40 cases of coronavirus with one death.
