COVID-19: Lagos restricts social, religious gatherings to 20 people

Ebun Francis| The Lagos state government on Saturday for the second time in as many days restricted religious and social gatherings in the state over the coronavirus outbreak.

The state government had earlier in the week banned gatherings of over 50 people.

But in a tweet on its official twitter handle, the state government restricted the number of people at any gathering to to 20 and advised people to adhere strictly to the directive.

The tweet read, “The Lagos State Government has banned all religious pr social gathering of over 20 people within the State.”

“It is important we all adhere to this directive.”

Nigeria on Saturday confirmed 10 new cases of the coronavirus, seven in Lagos and three in Abuja, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 22.
