Donald Trump called April meeting with Buhari ‘so lifeless’- Report

President Donald Trump, according to a report in Financial Times called his April meeting with his Nigeria counterpart, Muhammadu Buhari, lifeless.

The two leaders met at the White House on April 30 and discussed issues bordering on fighting terrorism and economic growth.

The paper added that Trump warned his aides that he never wanted to meet someone so lifeless again.

“The first meeting, with Nigeria’s ailing 75-year-old Muhammadu Buhari in April, ended with the US president telling aides he never wanted to meet someone so lifeless again, according to three people familiar with the matter,” the newspaper claimed.

Quoting three sources familiar with the incident, the publication added that Trump warned his aides that he never wanted to meet someone so lifeless again.

The Presidency had at the time of the meeting, hailed it as a proof the United States is satisfied with the performance of the Buhari administration after Trump called Nigeria one of the most beautiful places on earth and commended Buhari’s effort in fighting corruption and the insurgency in the North East.

Both the white house and the presidency are yet to respond the report.
