Eight children found dead inside abandoned car in Lagos

By our reporter/ Eight children have been found dead in a car parked on Adelayo street, Jah-Micheal, along Badagry expressway in Lagos.

The incident which involved the children, aged between four and six,
happened on Saturday.

Adekunle Ajisebutu, Lagos police spokesperson, who confirmed the incident on Sunday, said the eight children were said to have mistakenly locked themselves in an abandoned car while playing.

“Their bodies have been recovered and deposited at the Badagry General Hospital’s morgue for autopsy so as to determine the actual cause of death,” he said.

The command spokesman also said Hakeem Odumosu, commissioner of police in Lagos, has ordered a “thorough and speedy” investigation into the circumstances surrounding their death.

Odumosu further commiserated with the families of the victims.
