FG slashes 2020 budget by 20%

By our reporter| The Federal Government on Wednesday sent a revised budget to the National Assembly, reducing some costs in view of the rampaging effects of Covid-19 pandemic.

There is a 20 per cent cut on capital projects across ministries, departments and agencies to the tune of N312,820,542,675, according to a source familiar with the documents sent to NASS by the executive.

A a meeting is reportedly ongoing between the leadership of the National Assembly and the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, and Mele Kyari, the group managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
