FG: We are ready to engage Niger Delta Avengers

The federal government on Monday expresses its readiness to negotiate with the Niger Delta Avengers and other aggrieved groups if they make their grievances known to the government.

Usani Uguri, the minister for Niger Delta Affairs made the disclosure after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja.

The minister also debunks allegations that the government is not keeping its promises in the Niger Delta but called for patience.

It will be recalled that the Avengers last Friday called off its cease fire agreement with the Federal Government with a threat to commence bombing of oil facilities in the region.

Stakeholders in the region have, however, urged the Avengers and others groups to desist from any act that will destabilise the relative peace in the region.
