The Abuja home of Nigeria’s minister of state for Petroleum resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu was on Sunday evening destroyed by fire.
The fire believed to have started from Kachikwu’s bedroom in the building located at Asokoro area of Abuja was eventually curtailed by men of the fire service.
“Kachikwu was not at home when it happened, but thankfully the fire service reacted quickly and put out the fire before things could go out of hand,” a source informed the Cable.
The extent of damage to the property by the fire is not immediately known.
The minister has been in the news of recent followed the leaking of a memo he wrote to President Buhari over the excesses of the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Dr. Maikanti Baru.
