The Kano state government on Monday named the Emir of Bichi, Aminu Ado Bayero as the new Emir of Kano.
This confirms Alabingo.com’s earlier story that the son of the late Emir Ado Bayero was poised to be named Emir of the ancient city by the state government ganduje-set-to-name-bayeros-son-as-new-emir
The announcement, made by the Secretary to the State Government, Usman Alhaji followed the removal earlier in the day of Muhammadu Sanusi II.
According to the SSG, the appointment takes immediate effect according to the SSG.
Usman Alhaji had explained that the state government took the decision to remove the traditional ruler over allegations of consistently refusing to abide by instructions given to him.
According to him, the removal was in line with the recommendation of the Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission which summoned the emir.
