Gunmen abduct worshippers during TARAWEEH prayers in Kaduna, demand 30m ransom

Gunmen suspected to be bandits on Thursday night stormed a mosque in Azara community, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, and abducted six worshippers during Taraweeh prayers.

According to Trust report, the attackers fired shots into the air to frighten residents before seizing four men and two women.

The report stated that as the attackers were fleeing, they abducted two more people from a nearby house, though those victims later managed to escape while the gunmen headed toward the forest. Community sources confirmed the incident and identified those taken.

By Friday morning, the kidnappers had reportedly contacted the victims families, demanding a ransom of thirty million naira before ending the call.
