Ebun Francis| Jos Aviation Quarters in the Heipang area of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau state was on Thursday night attacked by heavily armed gunmen who abducted a house wife during the raid.
According to eye witness account, the gunmen gained entrance into the quarters at about 8.15 pm and started shooting sporadically.
Plateau State Police Command spokesman, ASP Gabriel Ubah, who confirmed the incident on Friday, said detectives have been deployed to rescue the victim.
“The Command received a reported case of kidnapping within D Division Barkin Ladi where hoodlums broke into the house of a Staff of the Nigeria Meteorological Agency at Heipang and one person was kidnapped, Ubah said.
“A team of detectives and operational personnel promptly deployed to the scene are making concerted efforts towards rescuing the victim and to arrest the suspects. ”
The Jos attack is coming on the heels of a similar attack on Kaduna State aviation staff quarters earlier this month that resulted in the abduction of some staff by bandits.
