Ebun Francis || A woman on Tuesday shocked officers and other members of the public at Ogun State Police Command Headquarters by confessing that she sold her three years old daughter for N280,000 to enable her to pay a crippling debt.

She made the confession at the Ogun State Police Headquarters, Eleweran, where she was paraded along with two other women, Abibat Oyesanya and Morenike Shittu for engaging in child trafficking.

The woman, Olubunmi Funke, a single mother told the police she sold her three years old daughter to one Abibat Oyesanya, a member of child trafficking ring.

“The woman also requested for more children based on more demands for those adopting children. That is why I kidnapped the baby girl in Bodija, Ojurin, Ibadan, and brought it to the woman.”

The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, said the suspects were arrested as part of “ember month mop-up operations of the Command.”
