Identify, eliminate leaders of bandits, kidnappers, Buhari orders service chiefs

By our reporter| President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the service chiefs to identify the leaders of the bandits and kidnappers and take them out to restore confidence in the areas affected.

The National Security Adviser, Babagana Munguno who made the disclosure while briefing reporters shortly after a meeting with the President, said Buhari gave the directive at a security meeting with Service Chiefs at the presidential villa, Abuja, on Tuesday.

According to him, the President has made it clear that the criminals would no longer dictate the tone.

The Service Chiefs at the meeting, he said, informed the President they have identified weak areas that would be strengthened to appropriately fish out collaborators with non-state actors.

The NSA further stated that President Buhari revealed that his government is aware of plans by individuals who constitute themselves as authorities to undermine the efforts of the central government, noting that that the government would surely go after them.
