ISIS claim responsibility for death of 8 Nigerian soldiers

Ebun Francis  \ The Islamic State in Syria and Iraq (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the death of eight Nigerian soldiers killed in Sassawa, Yobe State, North East Nigeria during an early morning attack on Tuesday.

In a statement on Thursday the insurgent group which is affiliated to a faction of the Nigerian insurgent group, ISIS gave details on how the attack was carried out.

“The fighters took three four-wheel-drive vehicles and others mounted with rifles and heavy weaponry and various ammunition,” Part of the statement said.

The group did not, however, provide evidence for its claim.

The claim by the dreaded Islamist group, the first on Nigerian soil is coming barely one week after President Mohammadu Buhari expresses concern over the groups unholy alliance with  Boko Haram during the D8 summit in Turkey.
