Everest Ezihe || As political activities heat up ahead of 2019 Mr. Kingsley Echendu says his ambition to represent the good people of Isu, Njaba, Nkwerre and Nwangele Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly is to guarantee quality and effective representation.
Echendu disclosed this in his father’s ancestral compound Umueleke in Amauju Autonomous Community in Isu Council Area of Imo State on Wednesday while declaring his intention to the Leaders and Stakeholders of the Local Government Area under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The political icon expressed his passion to pursue vigorously an enactment of bills and policies that would improve the welfare of the masses especially as it concerns empowerment of the youth and women through job creation opportunities, skill acquisition, and entrepreneurship.
He lamented over the neglect given to elderly men and senior citizens and vowed to ensure that the federal government gives the issue of establishment of old people’s home a priority.
Other democratic dividends he promised to pursue include rehabilitation and reticulation of Eziama Obaire Federal government water scheme project which has been abandoned for over a decade, given agriculture a pride of place, construction, and rehabilitation of the federal constituency deplorable road network etc.
Responding, Sir Martin Ejiogu, the State Deputy Chairman of PDP who also hails from the Local Government area commended the youthful politician for his courage and presentations.
Ejiogu pointed out that the party leadership both in the State and National has resolved to give every aspirant equal opportunity while insisting that the party in the state is on the mission to regain its lost glory.
He cautioned the party executives against carrying any aspirant saying that the essence is to ensure free, fair and credible primaries.
In his contributions, the Local Government Area party chairman, Chief Anayo informed that the party is repositioning to unseat APC in all levels of the elections assuring the aspirant that as an illustrious son of Isu ancient clan that they will give him massive support and advised him to intensify consultations.
The highlight of the occasion was the attendance of eminent politicians as delegates from the other council areas that constituted the federal constituency among who are Engr. Ukachukwu Ihekwoaba (Nkwerre), Hon. Benji Azike (Nwangele), Hon. Kevin Chino (Njaba) and Nze Henry Dimka (Nkwerre).
They in one accord said that it is the turn of Isu to produce the candidate of the Federal House in 2019 as Nwangele and Nkwerre have monopolized the position for the past twenty years.
They advised Isu people to support their best in terms of credibility and integrity while commending the aspirant for showing capacity by availing his curriculum vitae, mission and vision agenda and family profile to the leaders and the stakeholders.
They further enjoined Isu political leaders to ensure unity of purpose and as an opposition political party that they will go to the election with their first eleven and based on credibility and acceptability.
They gave a marching order to the aspirant to go ahead with his campaign noting his credentials as intimidating and patriotic.
Other top politicians who spoke include Chief Sixtus Nsoromotu and Hon. Augustus Mbanani as they informed that the political leaders of Nwangele and Nkwerre have resolved that none of their sons, daughters or wives will contest for the federal constituency in the present political dispensation stating that equity, fairness, and natural justice are in tune that it is the turn of Isu and Njaba and Isu being the senior brother of Njaba according to tradition and political inclinations that Isu will take first slot before Njaba as equity and federal character equally demands.
