Jubilation as A’ibom works commissioner pledges to renovate school

Tony Okoh || For Community Secondary Commercial School Ikot Ebiere, Onna local government area of Akwa Ibom state, their days of woes appears over as the school will now have a perimeter fence to enhance security in addition to a renovated Assembly Hall.

The state commissioner of Works Commissioner, Mr. Ephraim Inyang-eyen announced this when he paid an unscheduled visit with his team to assess the flood prone situation in the area, with a view to determining the intervention measures to be taken to forestall further damages at their premises.

The commissioner used the occasion to direct engineers from his ministry to take immediate steps to address the flood problem within the premises of the school

He warned all those sharing boundaries with the school to properly channel their flood water away from entering the school premises to avoid further damages.

He pledged to attract more Government attention to the school to enable them over infrastructural challenges currently facing the institution.

The commissioner in his magnanimity also directed his Engineers to equally build a more convenient toilet system in the premises for teachers and students stressing that the institution has produced prominent leaders in the society.

On his own, the school Principal, Mr. Manager and his staff, as well as some community leaders, welcomed the kind gesture and thanked Commissioner Inyang-eyen for his sacrifice.

“We are eternally grateful to the commissioner for his selflessness in committing his personal resources to support government’s intervention in the schools in his hometown and across the state”

He urged other privileged individuals to emulate the kind gesture stressing that it takes one with a good heart and spirit to think of improving the environment where future leaders are molded.

Ongoing road project inspected by Works Commissioner Inyang-eyen

In a related development, Mr. Ephraim inyang-Eyen also visited The Etinan Roundabout, which he said will be expanded within the week to give it a facelift.

He urged Engineers from Julius Berger to commence work on the roundabout immediately.

According to Mr. Inyang-Eyen, there is no going back with the pace of development embarked upon by the present Administration, as every part of the state must receive the touch of good governance.

Other places visited were the Outfall drainage site at Ukana lkot ldeh in Essien Udoima Local Government Area, where Mr lnyang directed CCECC to do a thorough finishing on the Outfall drainage site.
