Kidnapped Justice Abdul Dogo rescued

Chidi Samuel|Justice Abdul Dogo of the federal high Court, Akure, who was kidnapped on Tuesday at Ibilo, in Edo state has been rescued.

Justice Dogo was rescued in the early hours of Saturday by operatives of the inspector general’s intelligence response team.

According to a police source who confirmed the release, the judge was released from a forest behind the Federal College of Education in Itape, Kogi state.

Although the victim was said to have sustained a minor injury, he has since been reunited with his family in Abuja.

As at the time of this report, it was not confirmed if any ransom was paid before the release of the judge.

His abductors had demanded a 50 million naira ransom after he was kidnapped on his way back to Akure from Abuja last Tuesday.
