Killer of murdered APC chairman in Nasarawa arrested

By our reporter| Abdullahi Sule, governor of Nasarawa, says The killer of Philip Shekwo, chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has been arrested, the state governor, Abdullahi Sule has said.

Sule who made the disclosure at a programme in Lafia, the state capital, on Tuesday, said one Muhammad Usman, a “notorious kidnapper” has confessed to killing the APC chairman.

According to the governor, Usman was arrested at Assakio village in Lafia east council development area of the state.

He commended security operatives for their efforts in hunting down the killers of the late APC state chairman.

Governor Sule said, “I was informed that Muhammad Usman also known as Baffa Nura, a notorious kidnapper in Nasarawa state, has been arrested and he has confessed that he is the killer.”

“He was arrested in Assakio, exactly where we thought we were going to get him and we were able to get him. Mister Commissioner Sir, our security personnel, I want to thank you for the good work you have continued to do.”

Alabingo.com had last week reported how the murdered chairman of the ruling APC in Nasarawa was abducted from his home in Lafia, the state capital, on November 21, 2020, at about 8pm.

His corpse was found a few kilometers from his residence the next day.
