Lagos on edge as mob set NPA headquarters, TVC, Sanwo-Olu mothers house, BRT buses ablaze

Ebun Francis| The Headquarters of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Marina Street, Lagos, the TVC head office, the house of governor Sanwo-Olu’s mother, many properties at Admiralty road, Lekki were among the places set on fire by an angry mob in Lagos ob Wednesday morning.

Also the head office of Channels Television was also attacked on Wednesday morning forcing the station to go off air briefly.

Details of how the places were set ablaze are still sketchy but according to various sources, it is a reprisal by urchins over government’s decision on Tuesday night for deploying soldiers to attack protesters at Lekki Toll Gate.

The in-house fire fighters from NPA are currently battling to put out the fire that is raging.

NPA’s Head of Corporate communications, Jatto Adams, did not pick his calls as Alabingo.com made effort to reach him Wednesday morning.

Apart from the house of Lagos State Governor,
Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s mother at Surulere which was set ablaze by unidentified persons, the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) are being attacked and set ablaze at Oyingbo area of Lagos, according to various reports.
