Lionel Messi commits future to Barcelona

Lionel Messi ended the speculation about his future by signing a new four-year contract with Barcelona.

The Argentine superstar has been with Barcelona since 2000 when he joined as a 13-year-old and made his debut in the first team at the age of 16.

The 30-year-old’s new contract has a £626 million buy-out clause and will see him at Barcelona until the end of the 2020/21 season.

In his seventeen years at the Nou Camp, Messi has helped Barcelona win eight La Liga titles, four Champions League titles, and five Copa del Rey titles.

The Argentine captain has scored over 600 goals for club and country and has been awarded the Ballon d’Or five times, more than any other player.
