Ebun Francis| Nigeria’s national electricity grid has once again collapsed.
The system which various reports said collapsed around 12:37 on Wednesday has plunged many parts of the country into darkness.
Confirming the development in a tweet on Thursday on its official twitter handle, @EKEDP, Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), assured its customers that a team was working to restore power.
The company Tweeted, “Dear Customer, present outage affecting all is a TCN System Disturbance on the grid. Power to be restored as soon as available.”
“Dear Customer, the outage which occurred at 1237hrs is due to a TCN system collapse affecting Lekki, Ibeju & environs. The team is working to restore power. Please, bear with us.”
Wednesday’s development is the first recorded collapse of the national grid in 2020.
