Niger delta stakeholders call off 90 day ultimatum to FG

Ebun Francis || The Niger Delta elders forum has called off its 90-day ultimatum to the federal government over the implementation of the agreement the government reached with the region last year.

The leader of the group, Chief Edwin Clark announced the decision at the end of a meeting with Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday night.

The group, however, called on the federal government to fulfill its promise to the Niger Delta Region.

The Niger Delta leaders had called on the Federal Government to take more serious steps to protect the lives of Nigerian citizens in Bakassi.

They also sought the establishment of a presidential commission to protect Nigerians still living in Bakassi.

Furthermore, the group had decried the non-ratification of the Green Tree Agreement which according to them, has the ability, if implemented, to protect Nigerians who chose to remain in Bakassi.
