Nigeria confirms 169 new COVID-19 cases

Chidi Samuel| Nigeria on Thursday confirmed 169 new cases of the novel coronavirus bringing the country’s toll to 66,974.

The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control which made the disclosure in a statement via its verified Twitter handle said the new infections were recorded in twelve states and the FCT with Kaduna recording 74 new cases followed by FCT 42, and Lagos -17.

Other states with new infections include, Kano-8, Ogun-6, Oyo-6,
Rivers-6, Ekiti-3, Bauchi-3, Katsina-2, Delta-1, and Ondo-1.

According to the health agency, 62,585 persons have recovered from the highly contagious disease with 1,169 deaths recorded.
