Chidi Samuel| Nigeria on Friday confirmed 223 new cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing to 63,731 the number of cases in the country.
The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control which made the disclosure in a statement via its verified Twitter handle, said the new infections were recorded in 17 states and the FCT with Lagos leading with 85 new infections, followed by FCT-35, and Akwa Ibom -24.
Other states with new cases include, Enugu-18, Plateau-13
Rivers-10, Abia-7, Ebonyi-6, Anambra-5, Adamawa-4, Bauchi-3, Imo-3, Ogun-3, Oyo-3, Kwara-2, Osun-1, and Taraba-1.
The health agency further revealed that so far, the country has recorded 1,154 deaths while 54,844 persons have recovered from the disease.
