Nigeria confirms 930 new coronavirus cases

Chidi Samuel| The rising number of new coronavirus cases continued on Wednesday as Nigeria confirmed 930 new infections bringing the country’s caseload to 75,062.

The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control in a Tweet via its verified Twitter handle, said the new infections were reported in Twenty two states and the FCT.

According to the update by the NCDC, Lagos, the epicentre of the outbreak recorded 279 new cases, followed by the FCT-179, Plateau-62, Kaduna-54, kano-52, katsina-52, and Imo-42.

Other states with new infections include, Jigawa-42, Rivers-38, Kwara-30, Nasarawa-19, Yobe-15, Ogun-13, Borno-10, Oyo-9, Niger-9, Ebonyi-6, Bauchi-6, Edo-5, Taraba-4, Sokoto-2, and Cross River-2.

The Nigeria health agency further noted that so far 66,775 persons have recovered from the disease with 1,200 deaths recorded.
