Nigeria records 252 new COVID-19 Cases

Chidi Samuel| Nigeria has confirmed 252 new cases of the novel coronavirus, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said on Tuesday.

In a statement via its verified Twitter handle, the health agency, said the country has so far conducted 383,130 tests with 52,800 persons testing positive to the highly contagious virus, out of which 1,007 persons and more than 39,000 persons discharged.

According to the NCDC, Tuesday’s infections were recorded in 18 states and the FCT with Plateau state led with 50 new cases, followed by Enugu with 35,
Rivers-27, Lagos-26, FCT-18, and Kaduna-18.

Other states with new infections include, Ekiti-10, Kano-10, Taraba-9, Anambra-8, Edo-8, Oyo-8, Delta-7, Ogun-6, Abia-5, Bayelsa-5, Ebonyi-1, and Osun-1.

Globally 23.77 million persons have contracted the highly promiscuous virus, with over 814,000 fatalities and 15.39 million recoveries, according to Reuters report.
