Nigeria records 296 new coronavirus cases, one more death

Chidi Samuel| Nigeria on Thursday confirmed 296 new coronavirus cases across the country.

The Nigeria centre for disease contro in a statement via its verified Twitter handle said the new infections were recorded in seventeen states and the FCT.

According to the data, Plateau state for the second day running led the figures for the day with 85 new cases, followed by Enugu with -46, Oyo-31, Lagos-21, Rivers-20, and FCT -15.

Other states that recorded new cases include, Kaduna-13, Bauchi-12, Delta-11, Ekiti-11, Akwa Ibom-7, Ebonyi-6, Kwara-5, Ogun-4, Osun-4, Gombe-3, and Niger-2.

According to the NCDC, Nigeria so far has 53,317 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, with 40,726 discharges, and 1,011 deaths.
