Nigeria records highest inflation rate (24.08%) in more than ten years

Our reporter/ The consumer price index (CPI), which measures the rate of change in prices of goods and services, rose to 24.08 percent in July 2023 up from 22.79 percent in the in June, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said in a report on Tuesday.

The July rate showed an increase of 1.29% points when compared to the previous month’s which was 22.79%.

The report captured Nigeria’s inflationary trend for July 2023.

The latest figure is the seventh consecutive rise in the country’s inflation rate in 2023.
