Nigeria records highest single-day coronavirus infection numbers with seven deaths

Chidi Samuel| Nigeria on Thursday recorded the highest single-day coronavirus infection numbers with 1964 new cases with 7 deaths recorded.

The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control in an update via its verified Twitter handle late on Thursday night said the new infections were recorded in 25 states and the FCT.

According to the update, Lagos recorded 824 new cases, followed by FCT-246, Plateau-166, Kaduna-128, Ogun-76, Nasarawa-74, Anambra-69, Edo-50, Rivers-45, Ondo-44, and
Niger-40.

Other states with new infections include, Oyo-38, Adamawa-35, Kano-31, Akwa Ibom-27, Gombe-19, Kwara-13, Ekiti-12, Delta-6, Kebbi-6, Bauchi-5, Ebonyi-4, Osun-3, and Zamfara-1.

The health agency further noted that Nigeria, so far, has 116,655 confirmed cases of the disease, with 93,646 recoveries and 1,465 deaths recorded.
