Chidi Samuel| Nigeria’s coronavirus load on Wednesday exceeded the 42,000 mark as the country recorded 404 new cases.
In a statement via its verified Twitter handle on Wednesday night, the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control said Nigeria’s COVID-19 burden now stands at 42, 208,
with 19,004 recoveries and eight new deaths bringing the death toll to 873.
According to the health agency, Lagos, the nation’s COVID-19 epicentre, reported 106 new cases, followed by FCT with 54, Rivers – 48, Plateau – 40, Edo – 29, Enugu – 20, Oyo – 20, Kano – 18, and Ondo – 15.
Other states with new infections include, Ogun – 10, Ebonyi – 9, Ekiti – 8, Kaduna – 6, Cross River – 5, Kwara – 4, Anambra and Delta – 3, Imo and Nasarawa – 2 and Borno – 1.

Meanwhile, according to the AFP tally, the highly promiscuous virus as at Wednesday has killed at least 660,787 people since the outbreak emerged in China last December.
Not less 16,769,080 cases of coronavirus have been registered in 196 countries and territories with about 9,555,900 believed to have recovered.
The tallies, using data collected by AFP from national authorities and information from the World Health Organization (WHO), probably reflect only a fraction of the actual number of infections, according to health experts.
