Yusuf Bello|The Presidency on Wednesday denied reports of a rift between the Office of the President and the Vice President.
Senator Babajide Omowurare, the senior special assistant to the President Buhari on national assembly matters who made the clarification while briefing journalists at the national assembly, however, could not explain why the President did not transmit a letter to the National Assembly, handing over responsibilities to the Vice President before proceeding to the UK for a private visit.
On those who have questioned the President’s decision to sign the amended deep offshore Act in London, Omowurare noted that the constitution permits the President to work from anywhere.
According to him, the scenario is different from that of late President Umaru YarAdua and Vice President Goodluck Jonathan where the former was at the time unable to discharge his duties because of ill health.
