Obaseki reacts to court injunction which barred him from PDP primary, says opponents have become jittery

By our reporter| Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on Tuesday said the interim injunction which restrained him from participating in the the Edo state Peoples Democratic Party governorship primary, is an attempt to destabilise the party by fifth columnists .

Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, one of the PDP aspirants, on Monday obtained an injuction which barred Obaseki from taking part in the primary election rescheduled to hold on Thursday, June 25

Reacting to the development, the embattled governor who spoke through his spokesman, Crusoe Osagie, noted that opponents of the PDP in the state were already jittery about the total support the party was receiving from the people.

He said, “The court order was obtained last night. Our opponents outside the party are trying to use fifth columnists within us to replicate the chaos in their party.

“They are worried about the popularity and acceptance of the PDP and our amiable Governor so much so that they have become desperate in their quest to stop a contest they know they will lose.”
