Our reporter/ The supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi are more peaceful than those who backed the ambition of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2011, Civil rights lawyers and former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani said on Wednesday .
Some Nigerians, especially, supporters of the ruling APC, in the run up to the February 25 presidential election had accused Obi’s supporters, known as Obidients as violent people following alleged verbal attacks on other presidential candidates.
But in a tweet on Wednesday, the outspoken Kaduna politician claimed Buhari’s supporters in the 2011 presidential election were more violent than Obi’s supporters.
“NO patriot should trigger or encourage anarchy; but we shouldn’t also ‘shorten our memories’, what Peter’s supporters are doing in 2023 is more peaceful than what Buhari’s supporters did in 2011.
“You only need to the past in order to appreciate the present”, he wrote.
